Club Development support Carnegie Harriers with Charitable Status

We were recently delighted to support athletics club Carnegie Harriers in their application for charitable status.

The club, who choose to incorporate as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), is a friendly running club which caters for people interested in running over all types of terrain and across a range of distances.

Originally formed in August 1991 to cater for the interests of road runners in the Dunfermline area, the club now also cover cross country, ultra, trail and hill running. Whatever the distance, someone in the club is likely to have run it – from a mile to a marathon and considerably beyond, throughout Scotland and further afield.

SCIO status opens a range of benefits to the club including:

  • It provides a separate legal entity for the club and offer members limited liability
  • It may reduce administration in comparison to a charitable company.
  • The ability to claim gift aid on donations
  • The opening up of a range of funders to apply to

Please get in touch if you’d like to hear more about how we can help you with incorporation.
