The RESPONSIBALL ranking looks at 24 international elite men’s leagues from around the globe, with scoring based on governance, community and environmental indicators.
Funded by the work of SchweryCade, RESPONSIBALL provides an online platform for a community of practitioners within the football sector to act together and promote and maintain high standards of meaningful social responsibility.
RESPONSIBALL has two key goals at the heart of its mission:
• To showcase good practices in governance, community development, and environmental stewardship; and
• To support a community of practitioners who want to connect with others, share good practices, compare and progress.
This season, a special focus was placed on assessing the research with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in mind. As such, the ranking has been published on 24 October 2019, the 74th anniversary of the signing of the UN Charter and what is now the official UN Day.
Scotland came 10th, down a place from 9th in the 2018 edition of the RESPONSIBALL ranking.
